I thought I needed to wait for the perfect time and I realized I only had 5 summers left with my oldest. There was never a perfect time.
The Warrior Dad Experience is probably the most high value thing I've done in the last decade to really get my life back on track.
I was in a rut personally and professionally so I jumped in. The system allowed me to never miss a workout — dialed in physically, emotionally and mentally — and a lot more patient.
I didn't have a plan to manage the chaos of life. Now I have a way to attack each day with a plan, I'm more intentional with my kids, and I've started dating my wife again.
I did 75 Hard, also Zero to Dangerous — but this is the one thing I felt most connected with. The discipline of the bookends created excitement to wake up each day and lead from the front.
There were times it was challenging communicating with my wife and setting the example for my boys. Getting better sleep with the PM bookend — and defining my identity as a husband and father — was a great mindset change.
My son in college started implementing the principles as well. Watching him pick it up was the whole point — it's not just changing me, it's changing the next generation.
